The governing body of the Charity is a board of up to fourteen Trustees. Members are unpaid and must live, work or have special knowledge of Isleworth and/or Hounslow.
- Twelve Trustees are appointed for four-year terms.
- Two Trustees are ex-officio and are permanent Trustees. These ex-officio posts are held by the Vicar/Priest-in-Charge of All Saints’ Church, Isleworth and the Vicar/Priest-in-Charge of St John the Baptist Church, Isleworth.
The full Board of Trustees meets six times a year and in addition there are specialist committees dealing for example with building & maintenance, grants, investments, almshouse-applicant interviewing and human resource issues.
Role description for Trustees
Main Tasks
- To ensure that the Board fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the Charity;
- To take part in formulating and regularly reviewing the strategic aims of the Charity;
- To ensure that the policy and practices of the organisation are in keeping with its aims;
- To ensure that the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a charitable organisation and works to achieve best practice;
- To reflect the Charity’s vision and principles, strategy and major policies at all times;
- To contribute specific skills, interests and contacts to support the Charity;
- To attend meetings of the Trustees and be an active member of the Board of Trustees in exercising its responsibilities and functions;
- To reflect the Trustees policies and concerns at full board and sub-committee meetings;
- To maintain good relations with all staff;
- To take part in training sessions provided for the benefit of the Trustees;
- To fulfil such other duties and assignments as may be required from time to time by the Board of Trustees.
