David Maclure
The Rev’d David Maclure came to Isleworth in 2014 as an assistant curate to Rev’d Tom Gillum at St John the Baptist with St Mary the Virgin, Isleworth. During this time, David has fostered strong links in the wider community – for example, with the Green School, Atfield House care home and Hounslow Friends of Faith. After completing his curacy, David remained in the parish to become the vicar after Tom moved on.
David trained for ordination at Oak Hill College, in North London. Before being selected for ordination, David was a teacher of English as a foreign language in Highgate, and before that in Natal, Brazil from 2006-2009. He first gained a taste for ministry in the Church of England as an International Student Worker at St Michael le Belfrey,York after having graduated.York was where David met his wife Rachel, and the couple now have three children.
David joined the Charity in September 2017.
